Ideas CityRP has decided not to do, one file per idea. Triage reads this folder before evaluating a suggestion, so a new request for the same thing is matched against the earlier decision instead of being argued from scratch.
These are standing decisions, not permanent bans. Each file says why the idea was turned down, and many say when it should be looked at again. If the reasoning no longer holds, change or delete the file and let the new suggestion go through normal triage. How the files are written and used: the triage skill's out-of-scope guide.
Layout
- Top level: gamemode features, systems and content policy.
rules/: server rule changes. The rules are content maintained by staff, so these are the admin team's decisions and can change without any code change.
The first week of an update
For the first week after an update ships, suggestions to revert it, or to restrict something it added (gating a new vehicle behind a job or REP because it is being overused, for example), are not taken. Anything new gets heavy and silly use while it is new, and teething issues show up at once; both pass or get fixed, and a knee-jerk revert or restriction throws away the work or punishes everyone for a phase that would have ended on its own. Fix teething issues; do not revert the work. If a problem carries on after the first week, raise it then, with the problem itself as the subject.
Staff have held this since 2018, when a scoreboard revert (thread) and restrictions on the new dune buggy and school bus (thread, thread) were all turned down.
What does not get a file
- A request for one specific piece of content (this car, this model, this gun) turned down for reasons tied to that item. That rejects the item, not the idea.
- A suggestion denied by community vote or for lack of support. The community changes its mind.
- A suggestion deferred for capacity ("not a priority right now"). That is a deferral, not a decision.
- Anything already implemented. The closing comment points to where it lives instead.
Where these came from
The first set was backfilled in October 2026 from the archived suggestion forums (the Declined forum and the staff review archive), keeping only decisions staff made about the idea itself, then reviewed one by one by the maintainer. Forum links in each file point at the archived threads.
